West Ulverstone Primary School is located in West Ulverstone, Tasmania. The school was established in 1959 and has a tradition of providing quality state funded education for students in Years Kinder to 6 from the surrounding community.

Like all Tasmanian government schools, West Ulverstone Primary School is committed to the goal that every student has the opportunity to learn and achieve his or her potential. The school is guided by the Learner at the Centre framework and embraces the government's priority areas including Literacy and Numeracy - improving the basic literacy and numeracy skills of all school-aged children. West Ulverstone Primary School is committed to working with its community and supporting teachers working together designing personalised learning opportunities for all students.

Our school offers excellent facilities from classroom resources and devices, large oval spaces, kitchen/garden capabilities including daily breakfast club, court and playground areas catering to all students, Launching into Learning area, art room and multipurpose hall. Student leadership and contribution to school life are vital aspects of our learning community. Examples of leadership roles include the Student Representative Council, Sports Leaders, House Captains and Library Monitors. Student views are sought on a range of matters relating to the school and its programs.

The West Ulverstone Primary School Association works in partnership with the school community to participate in setting future directions, make decisions and develop policies that have a direct effect on the way the school operates. Our parents and our School Association continue to strongly support the work of our staff, as does the local community.

We are committed to the student, parent and teacher partnership and model this through our school and shared Department of Education values of Respect, Courage, Aspiration and Growth.
